The Why Behind Investor Dinner Club

Investor Dinner Club started because I got tired of the way most networking events work.
You walk into a big room, put on a name tag, have the same five-minute conversations with a bunch of people, collect some business cards, and leave hoping something actually comes from it.
And usually, the best conversations happen somewhere else. Sitting at a bar after the event. Grabbing a drink with two or three people. Actually talking instead of pitching.
I wanted more of that.
So I started putting together small dinners in DC with investors and operators where the goal was simple: have a great meal, meet a few interesting people, and actually get to know them. No presentations, no pitching, no crowded room. Just a good table and good people.
At first, that was really all it was. But pretty quickly, I realized there was a lot more value in staying connected between dinners. A few members even started their own book clubs and smaller groups just to keep the conversations going.
So I built a member portal where the entire community can stay connected, not just the people sitting at your table that month.
And that’s really where the magic happens.
The people who keep showing up, we end up grabbing coffee. Then we're on the phone about a deal. And more than once, we've ended up at the closing table together.
That’s the kind of networking I’ve always wanted. I’m not trying to build the biggest networking event in town. I’d rather have 8 people around a table who actually want to be there than 80 people walking around a room collecting business cards.
Because the person sitting across from you might become a business partner, an investor, a client, or simply someone you’re genuinely glad you met.

I wanted something different.
So I started bringing small groups of investors and operators together around a dinner table. No presentations, no pitching, no crowded room. Just good food, good people, and enough time to actually get to know each other.
And here's what I've noticed since: it rarely stops at dinner.
We grab coffee. We get on the phone about a deal. And more than once, we've ended up at the closing table together.
I also didn’t want the relationship to end when dinner did. That’s why every member gets access to our private member portal, where you can stay connected with the entire IDC community in your market, not just the people sitting at your table that month.
That's the whole idea behind Investor Dinner Club.

Who is Investor Dinner Club for?
Investor Dinner Club is for real estate investors, aspiring investors, developers, lenders, and other professionals working within the real estate industry. Whether you’re actively acquiring properties, building a business, exploring your first investment, or simply looking to connect with thoughtful people in the industry, you’ll find a seat at the table.
What should I expect during the dinner?
Expect an intimate dinner experience with thoughtful conversations around real estate, investing, business, current opportunities, and industry trends. There are no presentations, sales pitches, or formal agendas.
What's included with my membership?
Your membership fee isn't just for the meal — it's what makes IDC possible: curating the room, coordinating each month's dinner, and reserving your seat, plus everything else included in your membership:

How expensive will the restaurant be?
Most members spend $40–$70 on food and beverages at the dinner itself, depending on what they order. Your membership reserves your seat every month; the meal is purchased separately, same as if you were meeting a friend for dinner.
How are the tables curated?
We aim for a balanced mix of investors, agents, lenders, developers, and other professionals to create engaging conversations and diverse perspectives at every table. If you'd like the opportunity to curate your own table dynamically, you can do so by sponsoring or partnering on a local or national level.
What should I wear?
Be yourself! Business casual is recommended. The atmosphere is professional but relaxed. Come dressed comfortably for an evening of conversation and connection.
What happens after I attend my first dinner?
The goal is to create long-term relationships, not one-time interactions. Attendees who align with the community may be invited to future dinners and additional Investor Dinner Club experiences.
Can I bring a guest to a dinner?
For quality purposes, we limit the total number of tickets purchased per order to 2. Each RSVP must be submitted and verified individually to ensure every attendee meets the qualifications and aligns with the purpose of the dinner club. If you would like to invite someone, they will need to complete their own registration for review.
What happens if I need to cancel?
You can cancel your IDC membership anytime — no contract, no minimum commitment. Cancel before your next billing date and you won't be charged again. One thing worth knowing: if you're on the founding rate, that price is tied to staying a member — rejoining later would be at the current rate
